<image:title>About Me - Wildlife conservation with a social science twist.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m Elena Rubino (she/her), a conservation social scientist with over 10 years of quantitative and qualitative research experience. I study human decision-making and behavior change leading to policy/program recommendations that improve wildlife and habitat conservation on private lands. I work with governments, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders to better understand the stakeholder needs and perspectives required to achieve conservation outcomes.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Hello! My name is Mandie Flint. I graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies. I’m working on a Master’s degree at the University of Arkansas at Monticello to create educational materials and outreach campaigns regarding the use of mass timber and emergency infrastructure in rural communities that are more prone to disasters in the Mississippi Delta. Mass timber has almost exclusively been used in high-rise apartments, and I’m excited to connect with community leaders to raise awareness for a new use of mass timber, while simultaneously promoting the health of forests. After getting my Master’s, I hope to pursue a PhD and continue engaging with local communities about improving human-environment interactions, especially in areas most impacted by climate change.”</image:caption>
